Jack Berry House is a rehabilitation and fitness centre with four respite rooms offering en suite accommodation and shared eating/dining areas.
All areas of Jack Berry House are fully accessible for wheelchairs whilst one of the respite rooms offers additional features for the less able and provides an adjacent room should a carer be required.
The ‘Don’t Push It’ gym is fully equipped with both fitness and rehab equipment and is a large high ceilinged area allowing excellent air circulation. Large changing/shower areas link through to the Reuben Rehabilitation Hydrotherapy Pool. This is a state of the art pool and will be a massive boon for those individuals suffering from lower limb injury.
The facility includes four separate consulting rooms and whilst one will be the immediate base for Gemma Darley to practise from, the others purposefully have been designed to offer us flexibility. We do anticipate that they will be used regularly by a nutritionist and JETS representative and longer term one is likely to become the base for a Sports Physician.
The fourth room, the simulator room, will be masterminded by Tom O’Ryan and Kevin Darley, and we anticipate that this will become an extension of the Northern racing College for those younger jockeys who have just graduated from apprentice/conditional courses etc. as well as those older jockeys looking to sharpen up their techniques.
