Townscape Architects of Harrogate have obtained planning consent for an extension to Oaksey House in Lambourn.  This will see the building completely remodelled to create a state of the art hydrotherapy treatment pool, gymnasium, treatment facilities and new function suite.  The building will become one of the most advanced and best equipped centres in the uk and will aid in building fitness, preventing injury and providing rehabilitation facilities for injured jockeys. Construction work is expected to commence in spring 2017 and the new facility opened in summer 2017.

This is Townscape Architects second commission for this high profile racing charity following completion of Jack Berry House in Malton last year (https://www.townscape-architects.co.uk/portfolio/jack-berry-house/).  Townscape have been commissioned to design a new office and rehabilitation facility in Newmarket for the Injured Jockeys Fund and British Racing School, planning permission is due to be submitted for Peter O’Sullevan House in December 2016.
